A few friends and I visited the Harry Potter Studios in Watford a few days back as we have all been huge fans of the movies since day 1. On arrival, there were two huge warehouses with large pictures of characters and scenes dotted around the walls which set off some excited squeals.. As we already had our tickets we went straight inside and began queueing (which was only for around 20 minutes). Immediately i noticed that all of the staff were very happy and friendly which gave the building a really warm uplifting feel. As we entered the first room we had a talk- from the most annoying woman who kept laughing at her own jokes that were NOT funny- about the rules: 1. do not touch anything and 2. do not run around. Both of which i really wanted to do. We then went into their comfy cinema room and watched interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint plus scenes and clips from all the movies which gave me goosebumps! The staff then set us free in the great hall which was so surreal as nearly every actor from the film had stood on the floor that I was stood on right now! As I entered the room I wanted to shout 'TROLL! TROLL IN THE DUNGEONS!' but I managed to refrain..
The other rooms included the original sets of Dumbledore's Office, Griffindore common room, Harry and Ron's bedroom and the potions room with all the behind-the-scenesness you could wish for! There was a green screen room where you could ride a broomstick and drive the flying car, however we felt the queue was too long so didn't have a go:(.
Joining the 2 warehouses was an outside lunch area with hot dog stalls and butterbeer (SPOILER ALERT: butter beer is cream soda with a sort of marshmallow top and is delicious mmmm.) I would suggest taking your own lunch with you as a hot dog was around £5!? Anyway on with the tour; also outside was essentially Privet Drive with houses number 4 and 5 and lots of great picture opportunities including Hagrids bike with side car, the triple decker 'Knight bus', Potter cottage and the 8 foot chess pieces that featured in The Philosophers' Stone. There are many many more things to see and do here but i don't want to spoil it for you so please try and go if you're a fan because it is an amazing experience!!
